| Örebro sportklubb handboll Örebro Sportklubb (Örebro SK or ÖSK) was founded in 1908. The club is an alliance of sport clubs all going by the name Örebro Sportklubb. Initially sports like skating, track and field and curling was on the agenda but not any more. Some of the classic sports from the early days still exists today like handball (team handball), football, bandy and bowling. Some sports like tennis have comed and disappeared and some have been added like floorball. Today the alliance have eleven branches of which seven are sport clubs: Bandy Bowling Floorball Football (Top-level) Football (Mass-participation) Handball (Team handball) Ungdom (Youth club with bandy, flooraball, football and (team) handball). ÖSK Handboll have won the national championship, both seniors and juniors, three times. But that was in the late 40s and the early 50s and ÖSK also have a bunch of second places. ÖSK even played the European champianchip finals in Paris in 1957 against Dukla Prag. Sadly they lost 21 to 13. In 1968 the club decided to recede and other clubs in Örebro took over. In the 80s the youth club, ÖSK Ungdom, took up handball and that led to the rebearth of ÖSK Handboll in 1990. Women had by tradition played handball in another Örebro club, IFK Örebro (KVIK Centra). But with the help of ÖSK Ungdom, ÖSK Handball got there first womens team in the 2003/2004 season. Today ÖSK Handboll have four teams, two men teams and two women teams.
